Does tourism raise property taxes to pay for increased security and infrastructure costs that are related to tourism, or do tourism dollars offset these costs and help keep our property taxes lower? Regardless, tourism is here to stay, and the city needs to embrace it and maximize revenues that come directly into the city. Parking revenues are one of the few tourism dollars that come directly into the city. The city needs to continue to invest in parking and develop other tourism related revenue streams.
